Welcome to the digital.auto project. We aim to help the mobility community deliver on the promise of the "Smart-phone on wheels" vision by combining a strongly use-case driven co-innovation approach with technical enablers such as Software-defined Vehicle, Digital Twin and AIoT.
Overview
The digital.auto project aims to utilize the emerging Software-defined Vehicle infrastructure to bring a truly digital experience to mobility users. For this to happen, on-board and off-board development must be closely aligned. We do this by starting with the identification and prioritization of the most relevant use cases. These are then mapped to off-board apps (mobile, cloud) as well as on-board application services - integrating with the vehicle digital twin to access all relevant vehicle features via true software APIs.
Workstreams
The digital.auto currently has 2 main workstreams: blueprint.digital.auto and sandbox.digital.auto. blueprint.digital.auto provides an actionable blueprint including a digital.auto project structure and solution design, building on existing standards like COVESA. It is mainly useful for project managers and solution architects. A full demo can be accessed on the workstream page.
sandbox.digital.auto aims to provide a playground for experimentation and co-innovation. You will be able to build digital.auto apps against the full vehicle Digital Twin API, which is mapped to 3D vehicle simulation and selected vehicle hardware components. Current status is proposal.
